History
Founded in Bergamo in 1983, by Giambattista Brevi and his wife Tiziana D’Alfonso.
The company started out as an Olivetti cash register dealer, and later extended its range to the personal computer area. Despite a growth trend which brought immediate success to the company at local level, Brevi soon realized that the horizons of a Dealership were limited and – at the same time – that there was great potential in the hardware market, from assembled systems to components and peripherals.
At the end of the 1980s mr. Brevi courageously decided to cease representing Olivetti and determinedly began marketing hardware and personal computers assembled by the company.
Initially operating as a simple retailer, subsequently as a true Distributor.
It was as a Distributor that our company finally achieved a radical change, becoming a joint stock company with an increase in billings, which quickly reached the millions euro, first at 2-figures level, then 3-figures one. Over these years, increased billings have been accompanied by a policy of commercial alliances with a series of companies doing business at regional or local level, with which Brevi entered into important partnerships based on simple supply agreements and/or acquisition of shares in the companies, owned by Brevi itself or by our shareholders; Brevi has used these companies to set up our own network of business partners and wholesale (cash & carry) outlets throughout the country, completely owned or controlled. This growth through external aquisitions ends in the first years of 2000, to be followed by a re-organization and optimization process where all the different company assets are re-designed, abandoned or integrated into pre-exisisting structures, in order to develop the best commercial synergy. At the end of 2004 the company headquarter has been moved to Grassobbio, a few kilometres far from Bergamo: a very recent building, which has opened new competitive frontieers, thanks to the increased stocks capacity (around 5000-sqm Warehouse) and the improved logistics functions. This evolution is now complete and it’s just “Brevi Spa” the only subject which manages the business: a company which aims to the ambitious target of 200 millions euro of sales revenue and with a wide coverage of the market through its cash&carry outlets chain, with 18 points of sale located all over Italy.
In 2007 Brevi crossed the prestigious line of 10.000 resellers supplied on yearly basis, clear sign of its wide presence on Italian IT Channel.
In 2008 we celebrated our “25th anniversary” and also activated a dedicated Business Unit for Retail Market, that is GDO/GDS, in order to create a Brevi market share in that segment too, in a synergic and complementary way to the core business represented by “traditional” channel.
